Waikiki Pearl Harbour

Woke up very early to get ready for morning at Pearl Harbour. Picked up at 5.45 in the pouring rain. we didn't bring any rain gear but luckily it stopped by the time we arrived.
Had to line up for about half an hour as only 1400 tickets sold each day. The site has a lot of plaques that they want you to read but not set out that pretty. the emotional part is your group watch a 30 minute movie and then you are taken on a boat over to a memorial that has been set up over a sucken navy ship. 1100 men still there on the sunken ship. That was a bit emotional.

When we got back to hotel had a nanna nap and nearly slept through our alarm. Only just made the last bus to look around the coast of Hawaii. Very pretty. The landscape is pretty dry. We were expecting it to be much greener. The houses also seem to be all stuck in the 50's and a little rough around the edges. We like around 'waikiki beach area. Very nice with the palm trees etc. Tons of people. Decided we had to have a swim in the ocean. The water was so nice and clear. Went out to tea at Rock Lobster. Every Friday night the hotel next to ours has fireworks. We went down to watch and found  great Hawaiian music playing with the dances etc. So nice to watch. Flying to meet Phil and Ginger tomorrow in Maui.
